Missed Call Cost Calculator
Estimate what unanswered calls cost your service business each month, using your own numbers. It takes about a minute.
Free, no signup, and your numbers stay in your browser unless you choose to request a follow-up. Not sure what to enter? Our worksheet shows how to measure each one.
Estimated cost of missed calls
What if you recovered some of it?
Set the share you think you could recover by answering or texting back faster. This is your own assumption, not a prediction.
Compare that with the cost of a fix. Options include missed-call text-back, an AI voice agent, or a live answering service. See how they compare.

The math, in plain terms.
Lost jobs per month = missed calls × new-customer share × booking rate × (1 − share who still book). Lost revenue = lost jobs × average job value.
The calculator uses only the numbers you enter. It is an estimate, not a forecast, and real results depend on your market, season, and how you handle calls. For the full method, including how to measure each number, read what missed calls cost your service business.
Common questions.
What counts as a missed call?
Any call that was not answered by a person, including calls that went to voicemail, rang out, or hung up. Your phone provider or phone system can show you these in the call log.
Why do I enter the share of missed calls from new customers?
Many missed calls come from existing customers, vendors, spam, and wrong numbers. Only new-customer calls represent jobs you could have won, so the estimate uses just that share.
Why subtract callers who still book?
Some people leave a voicemail and you call them back, and they still book. Those jobs were not lost, so the calculator removes them to avoid overstating the cost.
How accurate is the estimate?
It is only as good as the numbers you enter. Measure your missed calls, new-customer share, and booking rate over at least two weeks for a reliable result. Our worksheet explains how.
Does this include repeat business?
No. It uses the value of a single job. A new customer may be worth more over time, but that depends on your business, so we keep it out of the estimate.
Does it cost anything or share my data?
It is free, and your numbers stay in your browser. If you choose to request a follow-up, we receive your name, email, optional trade, and the numbers you entered.
